I love weekend meals. I made this for lunch a couple of weeks (months?) ago. It’s one of the more successful recipes I’ve tried since I started cooking. My family asked for seconds and thirds!
Recipe from Bon Appetit. Enjoy!
I like lists. To-do lists, top-10 lists, and most especially, grocery lists. I like being prepared, but what I wasn’t prepared for was spotting butternut squash at my local grocery store. It was like seeing a unicorn, I swear. I forgot about my list and started combing my memory for ingredients I needed to make squash soup, one of my mother’s favorites.
When it was time to pay, the cashier scanned my squash through her machine and asked, “What is this?” She and the bagger had a good laugh when I replied, “Squash.”
Recipe adapted from Alton Brown.
Greens and ricotta along with the fruits we have at home topped with my favorite dressing: olive oil, balsamic vinegar and honey.
Hello everyone! I’ve been swamped with work the past few weeks. December has left me burned out and we’re barely past the halfway mark! This was a quick and simple midweek meal. I sauteed the shrimp in garlic and onions. Mixed in mangoes, tomatoes and basil after and perched it all on a soft tortilla.
I wanted to do macarons again just so I could prove to myself that my first attempt was not a fluke. So, last weekend, I gave it another go. Look ma, no more visible bumps!
Anyway, how are you? I’m on day 3 of my ‘healthy week’. My mother has been dropping hints that I’ve been looking a bit too round lately (in the loving way that mothers do.). I didn’t want to admit it at first, but I’ve recently come around to accept it: I gained the food blog 15. So, I vowed to start eating healthy starting Monday, which means I’m swapping my sweets for greens (Que horror!). By Tuesday, I spiked a fever (What?). I’m chalking that up to coincidence. Today is day 3. Third day hump day! There’s a bag of mini Reese’s in close proximity. I already ate one. It is taking all my self control to not devour the whole bag. God, help me.
(My, my, macarons can make me very chatty, no?)
